Attention prospective applicants:

We will begin accepting applications on the following dates/times:  See Step 4.  It is YOUR responsibility to check the website on a regular basis for any updates. 

For students interested in applying to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, follow these steps below.  Be advised there are two (2) pathways:

Step 1

Click on link  for Path descriptions.  Read carefully to find the path option best for you.  Once you have discovered the path that applies to you, click on the appropriate link below to view the application.

The examples below will assist you in successfully preparing an application for submission.  DISCLAIMER:  These are examples and meant for your reference only.  Your completed application may appear different to these examples and may be more/less extensive.

Step 2

Request from other schools, if applicable Official Transcripts to ensure course equivalency.

  • It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain a copy of course descriptions or college catalogs, descriping courses completed at other colleges to assist in establishing equivalencies.
  • If your course is NOT listed on the Grid of Comparable Prerequisite Courses, you must make an appointment with an ALLIED HEALTH Counselor (see Step 3).  Merced College courses do NOT require a counselor's signature.  Official Transcript(s) from other colleges/unversities must be sent directly to the Merced College Admissions & Records office by January 28, 2022 - no exceptions.

Step 3

If necessary, contact (209) 381-6478 or email ecounselor@mccd.edu to make an appointment to see an Allied Health Counselor.  Bring with you to that appointment:

  1. The DMS Application Information Handbook
  2. Transcript(s)
  3. Other college catalogs, course descriptions
  4. Foreign transcripts - Formal Evaluation
  5. Military Credits

You will not be able to submit your application until the days/time listed above.  The submission button for the application will not appear until it has been enabled.  Once enabled, the submit button will appear and it is at that time you will be able to submit your completed application.

You must submit your completed application as ONE file (multiple file uploads will NOT be accepted).  Only PDF applications will be accepted.  See examples - Step 1.

If you need assistance, please note that public libraries, office supply stores (Kinko’s, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, etc.) and other services can create scanned documents for you.

You may not use old or outdated applications/forms. Only the most current application will be accepted, absolutely no exceptions. Valid application will have the latest date on the cover.  You may use an old application as a reference ONLY.

 

Transcripts

Update 2/2/2021 - You can now print your Merced College Unofficial Transcript from your student portal.  Instructions are found here.  For assistance obtaining obtaining a copy of an Unofficial MC Transcript, email:  admissions@mccd.edu.
