School of Social Sciences and Education

Study in the School of Social Sciences & Education is designed to funnel graduates to one of the California State Universities to earn elementary or secondary teaching credentials.

  • Credit for Prior Learning

    Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is a strategy to help students get credit for what they already know and can do, saving them time and money on their educational path.

  • Work Experience Education

    If you work, volunteer, or are self-employed, you can earn up to 16 units of elective transfer credit while attending Merced College.

  • Adult Education & Noncredit

    More than 80 noncredit sections are offered each semester at over 20 sites throughout Merced County and the surrounding area.

  • College for Kids

    College for Kids is a summer program that stimulates curiosity, reinforces basic skills, and helps kids discover new subjects and have fun with safe classes and camps.
