Biotechnology

The Merced College Biotechnology program offers students flexibility in selecting a future in biotechnology. Graduates of the program may work in the biotechnology industry, be employed by a research institution, or transfer to a four-year college to receive a degree.

Two options are offered:

  1. The Associate in Science Degree in Biotechnology, a two-year program, or
  2. The Certificate of Completion in Biotechnology, which can be finished in a shorter time period.

Students completing the Biotechnology program will develop employment skills leading to career options in Biotechnology, DNA Forensics, Agriculture Biotechnology, and Chemical Biotechnology. Individuals with knowledge and skill are highly sought by business, industry, and research in this fast-growing field.
