Life on Campus

Laundry rooms are available at no additional cost and are for resident use only. Residents have 24-hour access to the laundry facilities located within their building.

Student mail and packages are delivered to the Valley Housing Office each weekday. Please download the Smiota app to your phone for timely notifications and efficient access to packages. Please bring a photo ID to claim your package.

Mail and Packages are processed at the North Residence Services Desk.  

• Residents have free access to UC Merced’s Cat Tracks Bus System. Students can utilize Merced’s “The Bus” for free as well. Please show your student ID card(s) for either transport system for access.
• Bike racks are located outside each residence hall. Please register your bike on their website.
• Residents who wish to park in the lots on UC Merced’s campus must pay for a permit.

• Joseph Edward Gallo Recreation and Wellness Center – residents may opt into a semesterly fee to utilize the facilities.
• Half Dome Game Room – 24-hour access and is located of the first floor of Half Dome Residence Hall
• Residents will have access to campus activities, sporting events, and clubs!

Free Wireless access is available within residential facilities. Steps to connect will be shared with residents prior to move-in.

Residents will have access to a 24-hour multipurpose room on the ground floor of Promise Housing. Residential events may be hosted in the space as well.  

The Transfer Center will be located on the ground floor of Promise Housing, nearest the front lobby. Counselors will utilize the office space to support both Merced College and UC Merced college students. Periodically, workshops from other campus partners will be hosted in the space.

Located in Glacier Point 166. The front desk staff will be able to assist you with general housing questions, signing out spare keys, submitting work orders, etc. Residents may also visit the office to request refills for trash bags and cleaning supplies.
