Student Support
- MCELI provides personalized advising and support services for both instructional and personal purposes. MCELI staff is available to assist students in making the adjustment to a new culture. The program provides a variety of field trips throughout the semester so that the students have opportunities to experience American culture.
- Upon first arriving in the United States, a student may make arrangements for airport transportation services from Fresno, San Jose, or San Francisco. Transportation service will be provided by the YES ESL International Inc. staff with a fee.
- Homestay programs are popular among foreign students, providing an opportunity to improve spoken English skills and learn about American culture. The YES Homestay coordinator will carefully screen and interview prospective host families and carefully place students in the appropriate home environment. - MCELI accepts students anytime during the session and students can start on any Monday.
Students who successfully complete their 15-week studies at MCELI are eligible to enroll in college credit classes. The MCELI staff will assist students with the college enrollment process, ensuring a smooth transition to college. Additionally, students may have the opportunity to audit college courses, if seats are available and based on their English skill level while studying at MCELI for a small fee.
