In-Person Counseling

Counselors are available for in-person appointments. The Lesher Student Services Building on the Merced Campus and Building A on the Los Banos Campus are open to the public and student may come in-person to attend their counseling appointments. 

Phone Counseling

Counselors are also available for phone appointments. The full service phone appointment allows students to connect with a counselor by phone.

You may make an appointment with a counselor by calling the EOPS Office. To contact EOPS at the Merced Campus call (209) 386-6693.  Please be sure to leave a message stating your name and Merced College ID number.

Zoom Counseling

Zoom Counseling is a web-based service utilizing webcam and audio. The full service online appointment allows students to connect with a counselor through Zoom icon located on your Merced College Portal.

You must first make an appointment with a counselor by calling the EOPS Office. To contact EOPS at the Merced Campus call (209) 381-6596.

Mission

The primary goal of Merced College EOPS is to encourage the enrollment, retention and transfer of students challenged by language, social, economic and educational disadvantages, and to facilitate the successful completion of their goals and objectives in college. EOPS offers academic and support counseling, financial aid and other support services.

CARE Program

The CARE program is an additional service provided through the EOPS program to assist the single parent students that have a child that receives TANF. The additional services to CARE eligible
students include CARE orientation and workshops, CARE grants, meal cards, gas cards, parking permits, and bus passes.  For further information or to apply visit the CARE page.

NextUp Program

The NextUp program (also known Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support (CAFYES)) is a service provided through EOPS to assist qualifying current and former foster students. The additional services offered to NextUp eligible students include NextUp orientation and workshops, NextUp grants, meal cards, gas cards, parking permits, and educational supplies.
