Our Commitment to Accessibility: CCCCO ACMM Participation
Our institution is participating in Cohort 2 of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) Accessibility Centered Maturity Model (ACMM) initiative to strengthen and expand our commitment to digital accessibility. Through this collaborative effort, we are working alongside peer colleges to assess current practices, identify areas for growth, and implement sustainable strategies that improve access for all students. Participation in the ACMM cohort supports our ongoing efforts to create an inclusive learning environment by embedding accessibility into our systems, processes, and culture, with continuous evaluation and improvement guiding our work.
About the Accessibility Committee
Merced College has upgraded the task force that was in place through the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years to an Accessibility Committee that is part of its participatory governance structure. The mission of the Accessibility Committee is to ensure the District complies with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. To achieve this, the committee will use the Accessibility Framework (AF)
provided by the CCC Chancellor’s Office, Accessibility Center.
The Task force is responsible for overseeing the progress of the District as it works through the ACMM framework to meet objectives and tasks.
