What is Merced Promise?

The Merced Promise is a partnership between Merced College and the University of California, Merced. It is a commitment to our students to create a streamlined transfer process to earn their bachelor’s degrees here at the University of California, Merced.

The Career and Transfer Center have a dedicated UC Merced Advisor who works in Transfer Admissions at UC Merced. They have an office in the Career and Transfer Center, and they are ready to meet with you!

  • By attending counseling sessions, attending Merced Promise advising sessions and events, you can fully understand the transfer process to UC Merced.
  • Successfully submit UC TAG applications and UC Applications.
  • Fully understand the timeline of your application to UC Merced.
  • Invitations to special events like “Bobcat Day.”
  • If you meet UCM requirements, have a guaranteed transfer there through the UC TAG program.

  2. Or you can submit an interest form directly to MJ to be part of the Merced Promise program.

MC2UCM Cross-Enrollment

UC Merced and Merced College have created a Cross Campus Enrollment agreement that allows Merced College students who meet eligibility criteria to enroll in one course at UC Merced for the same cost as a Merced College student.

Enrollment is limited to one course per term, and participating students need the approval of both the home and the host campus.

Blue and Gold: UC financial aid

UC Blue and Gold: Financial Aid 
Blue and Gold is our commitment to offering financial aid that greatly benefits all California students and provides cost predictability to all students.

Tuition Coverage: Most California families that earn up to $100,000 receive enough grant and scholarship funds to cover their UC tuition.

Minimized Student Debt: With an average aid package including up to $22,000 in grants and scholarships, many California students are able to work part-time to cover their remaining costs, allowing them to graduate with minimal debt and often times debt-free.

Tuition Predictability: As a UC student, your tuition amount will be set when you first enroll and will remain the same for up to six years.

How to apply: FAFSA/California Dream Act Application + Cal Grant GPA Verification Form (you will be automatically considered when you submit these forms by March 2.
