College For Kids and Community Education Refund Policy

Community Education is a self‑supporting program, and enrollment fees cover instructional and administrative costs. Because expenses are incurred before classes begin, we are often unable to recover costs after the drop deadline. To receive a refund, you must contact our office at least 7 days before the class start date. Once a class begins, all fees are nonrefundable. Cash payments are refunded by check and mailed to the address on file, while credit card payments are refunded to the original card. Refunds may take up to 4–6 weeks to process.

If Community Education cancels a class due to low enrollment, instructor availability, or facility needs, a full refund is automatically issued. If class dates or locations change, we will notify participants as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

We provide safe activities for summer fun and learning. We have classes and camps to accommodate most ages. Our classes are designed to stimulate curiosity, reinforce basic skills, help kids discover new subjects and, most of all, help your child have a fun summer! Classes are held at various times during the day, Monday-Thursday.

College for Kids classes will be held on the main Merced College campus.

Enrichment classes are available to students going into 2nd grade thru 8th grade. Ages for aquatics programs and sport camps vary. Exact ages/grade levels can be found when registering for the class.

The registration covers all class/camp enrollment fees and supplies unless otherwise specified. It does not cover the cost of snacks, meals, or other related expenses.

If your child has a temperature or is complaining of an upset stomach, earache, severe cold, undetermined rash or other symptoms of illness, he/she will be escorted to our office and you will be contacted to pick up your child.

There is no designated drop-off or pick-up area. Parent/guardian must arrange a drop-off and pick-up location with their child. You may drop off up to 15 minutes prior and must pick up no later than 15 minutes after their last class of the day. Please note there is no supervision between classes or at lunch time. Students must know where to go after class to be picked up. Instructors are unable to wait with students after class. Please be on time to pick up your child. Should there be any changes to your child’s schedule, or any absences, please call Community Education staff at 209-386-6609. Office staff will make a note on the instructor roster.

During the College for Kids program, if your child is under the age of 10, they may be escorted from class to class and during lunch, per your request.

We ask that you do not go into the classroom while class is in session so the instructor and students are not disrupted. Our instructors and staff have passed clearance to work with children to ensure their safety. Many classes have either projects to take home or presentations that will be given on the last day. Parents will be invited to attend presentations.

Parking passes will be available for parents/guardians of all students. You will be given a parking pass once a Youth Participant Waiver is turned in to Community Education staff.
