Concurrent Enrollment Steps

K-12 students can enroll in Merced College classes tuition free (limitations may apply)! Contact dual.enrollment@mccd.edu if you have questions about the registration steps.

If you are a New or Returning student, you must apply for the semester you wish to enroll in. Continuing students from the immediate prior term do not need to reapply for admission.

QUICK TIP: When creating your account, use a PERSONAL email address, NOT one associated with your current high school. Include your full legal name, do not use nicknames or initials. If you have a Social Security Number and might attend Merced College after graduating high school, it is beneficial to include it when applying, though not required.

If you are unable to complete the online application, you can download and print the Paper Application for Admission (pdf) and drop it off in person to the Admissions & Records office. Be sure to bring a picture ID (such as a High School ID card) to Admissions and Records when you apply.

Once you receive your 7-digit Merced College ID #, you can begin the Dual Enrollment process by completing the required forms:

High School Students

  • Check with your high school counselor for course advisement and eligibility. English 01A is only open to eligible 11th and 12 graders.
  • If the course you are interested in requires a prerequisite course, please use the “High School Transcript’ file upload on the routable form to attach your current unofficial high school transcripts.

Middle School/ Elementary Students

  • Merced Colleges Board Policy 5010 & Administrative Procedure 5011 requires written recommendation from the K-8 school principal or the principal’s designee and current school transcripts before a K-8 student may be admitted as a special part-time or as a special full-time student. Please use the file attachments on the routable form to attach the documentation.
If you are unable to complete one of the routable K-12 Permits above, you can fill out the appropriate K-12 Permit PDF and follow the instructions below:
  1. Your Parent/ Legal Guardian will still need to fill out the Dual Enrollment Parent Consent Form listed in the section above
  2. Student completes top portion of the K-12 Permit
  3. Forward the complete PDF to the K-12 Official at your school site
  4. Once your form is signed by the K-12 Official, forward your form to our on-site Merced College counselor at k12counselor@mccd.edu
    • Note: Middle School/ Elementary students will need an Area Dean’s signature on their permit (see the PDF for more details)
  5. Be sure you submit the complete K-12 Permit with all signatures to dual.enrollment@mccd.edu for processing

Merced College Dual Enrollment will send a confirmation email once your permit is processed and you are ready to register online through the Merced College portal.

Two ways to Pay:

  1. Pay online. It’s fast and secure.
  2. Pay in person at the Student Fees Office.

K-12 Permit Completion Steps

Find the K-12 Permit in step 2 above.

  • Student Completes Form

    1. Complete all highlighted fields. Once complete, click “Click to Sign” button.
    2. Enter email for Participant 2 (K-12 Official)
    3. Enter email for Participant 3 (College Counselor)
    4. Enter email for Participant 4 (Merced College Dual Enrollment)

  • Permit Received

    Once all parties have signed the document, all parties will receive the complete form via email, including the college.

  • Go Register!

    Merced College Dual Enrollment will send a confirmation email once your permit is processed and you are ready to register online through the Merced College portal.

College and Career Access Pathways Enrollment Guides (CCAP)

Expanding dual enrollment for students who may not already be college bound or who are underrepresented in higher education. Please contact your high school or dual.enrollment@mccd.edu to find out if you can participate in the Merced College CCAP program before following the steps below.

  • A parent or legal guardian will need to fill out a one-time parent consent form authorizing their student to take Merced College courses.
  • Dual Enrollment Parent Consent Form

  • Check with a counselor at your high school to verify that your school offers Merced College CCAP courses. Work with your counselor to review course offerings and to determine eligibility.

  • CCAP Students will need to use the K-12 Permit PDF (not the routable form)
  • Once the student fills out the top portion of the K-12 permit, the form should be submitted to the CCAP counselor at the high school who will submit all paperwork to Merced College.
  • High School Student (pdf)

  • If any information is missing (i.e., application, parent consent form), you will receive communication from the CCAP counselor or Merced College on how to complete the missing items to finish up your enrollment.
  • Merced College will send out communication the week before your CCAP course begins on how to login and access your CCAP course.
