Program Description

The Associate in Arts Degree in Management/Supervisory Training is in preparation for entry level jobs in management/supervision as well as for advanced preparation for those employed in supervisory positions. Short-Term Stackable Management Certificates
There are three stackable certificates that can be earned through the Management Program at Merced College.  The skills acquired through these certificates are recognized and desired by employers in all industries. Participants will learn techniques and skills today that can be implemented tomorrow. Each program is listed below.

The Customer Service Academy – 5 Unit Certificate of Accomplishment
The Customer Service Academy conducts practical, hands-on workshops to enhance a business’ ability to gain and retain both customers and quality employees. This program delivers high quality, energetic, cutting-edge training to equip employees with the skills they need to effectively work together and serve both internal and external customers.   The program is made up 10 half-unit Management 50 courses.

The Emerging Leaders Institute – 4 Unit Certificate of Accomplishment
The Emerging Leaders Institute is for high potential employees and new managers who are ready to focus on core leadership skills and who are poised to move up in their organization. Seasoned managers would benefit from this program as well, as they would refresh themselves with current and proven leadership strategies. The theme of the program is Employee Engagement. All courses will help equip leaders with the skills and strategies to engage their team.  The program is made up of 8 half-unit Management 50 courses.

The Well-Being Institute – 2.5 Unit Certificate of Accomplishment
The Well-Being Institute is made up of a series of dynamic workshops that will equip participants with actionable skills to help increase their well-being.  From resilience, mindfulness, and gratitude, to sleep, exercise and nutrition, this program will deliver valuable support for your total well-being.  We must take care of ourselves if we want to serve others as employees, managers and leaders.  These classes are guaranteed to increase one’s well-being.  The program is made up of 5 half-unit Management 50 courses.

These short-term Management 50 courses are offered on campus and at the Merced College Business Resource Center in downtown Merced.  The program can also be delivered on-site in your workplace.
