The Laramie Project portrays a community’s response to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student who was brutally beaten and left to die. Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project conducted over 200 interviews with residents, capturing a wide range of reactions. The play weaves these voices into a powerful theatrical piece that explores both human cruelty and compassion.
