    From customer service and conflict resolution to crafting cocktails, local students can learn all the skills they need for jobs in hotels, restaurants and more through Merced College's Hospitality Career Academy. The free, 12-week program kicks off with an event at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Mainzer in downtown Merced.

Most classes and many support services remain online, but more and more are being offered in person, and employees are beginning to return to campus.

    The Merced Community College District Board of Trustees approved Tuesday (May 11, 2021) the appointment of Karissa Morehouse as Assistant Superintendent and Vice President of Instruction. Morehouse will begin her new role June 14.
