Merced College today unveiled its brand-new website, designed to better serve prospective students in finding their path to success.

The website has a clean, dynamic and action-oriented design that seeks to capture Merced College’s innovative spirit and family-like environment, while providing a streamlined user experience for all visitors, including high school students, adult learners, and lifelong learners in the community.

“Our website is often the first interaction prospective students have with our college, and we want to make sure they have a positive, welcoming experience,” Vice President of External Relations Jill Cunningham. “We’ve designed the site to be user-friendly, informative, and engaging, with the goal of helping students to take the next step in their educational journey.”

The college worked with Fastspot, a vendor based in Baltimore, to develop the site. Fastspot specializes in designing websites for higher education institutions and has worked with many community colleges across the country. The design process included input from a wide range of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

The website complies with the latest accessibility guidelines and features a responsive design, meaning it can be easily viewed on any device, including mobile phones and tablets.

“We focused on creating a design that was not only visually appealing, but responsive to all devices and accessible to everyone, regardless of ability,” said Megan Fletcher, Merced College’s Web Developer. “We also made sure the website was optimized for search engines, so prospective students can easily find the information they need.”
