Important Commencement Ceremony FAQ

How do I sign up for a graduation ceremony if I did not receive the email?
If you have not received an email to register for your ceremony, please contact Shannon Gragg at gragg.s@mccd.edu with your student ID, full name and current email address. If you need to update your contact information, please complete this form and include it with your email.

Are masks required at graduation?
Yes, all guests and graduates will be required to wear masks. Social distancing guidelines will be in effect for graduates and guests.

How do I get my cap and gown for graduation?
Students can go to the Merced College Bookstore to purchase their cap and gown after May 7.

How many tickets does each graduate receive?
Each 2020 and 2021 graduate is allowed 2 guest tickets. Children under the age of 6 months will not be required to have a ticket.

Can I purchase additional tickets?
Unfortunately, graduates are unable to purchase additional tickets.

Will the ceremony be available via livestream?
Yes! The ceremony will be livestreamed.

What time do I show up for the ceremony?
Graduates should arrive for their ceremony 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Please arrive at the baseball field.

What time should guests arrive for the ceremony?
Guests should arrive no more than 20 minutes before the ceremony. Please remember, tickets are required.

What kind of shoes should I wear?
Graduates will be walking on grass. Please wear comfortable shoes. High-heeled shoes are discouraged.

What if I need special accommodations?
Please contact Shannon Gragg at gragg.s@mccd.edu to arrange accommodations.
