Reading Across the Disciplines

All faculty are expert readers in their discipline. In this workshop we will discuss a framework through which we can address all relevant aspects of reading - social, cognitive, personal, and metacognitive. We will also discuss, demonstrate, and practice ways for expert readers to make visible all of the metacognitive processes that take place when experts read. Finally, we will observe an in-class example of an instructor utilizing this pedagogical approach to her class.
