Justin Pinasco becomes the sixth head football coach at Merced College.  The fourth generation native of Merced starts his 28th year and first year as head coach.  He has coached both sides of the balland almost every position.  In 2005 he became the associate head coach, and in 2010 the defensive coordinator.  For over 20 years he has been the strength  and conditioning coach as well as equipment manager.  Justin has coached many All-Americans, All-State, and All-Conference student athletes.  Many of his players have gone onto play in the NAIA, D2, D1, Arena, CFL, and the NFL.  

Justin is a graduate of Merced High School, and Merced College.  He is a former 1st Team All-Conference selection ad defensive end, and the recipient of the Don Odishoo Most Inspriational Award.  Because of knee injuries his playing career ended and he went right into coach at his alma mater.

To say Justin has Merced College blood in him is an understatement.  His father Volney played baseball at Merced College in 1968 and 1969.  The 1968 team he played on was the first Merced College team to win a championship.  Justin met his beautiful wife of 25 years Jennifer when she was at Merced College.  Jennifer come to Merced College to play softball and now serves  Merced College in a larger role.  She is the CEO of Yosemite Pathology whose lab has been performing the covid testing for the athletic and nursing programs. 

Justin and Jennifer have three daughters Jessica, Julia, Jaylin, and one son Justus.  His oldest Jessica gratuated from Merced College and was a 1st Team All-Conference volleyball player.  She received a scholarship to San Diego Christian College and is graduating this spring with her bachelors' degree.  Julia graduated from Merced College and was a 1st Team All-Conference softball player.  She is a certified make-up artist, and is now working in the medical field.  Jaylin is graduating from Buhach Colony high School and is about to graduate from Merced College at the same time.  She is a county All-Conf/All-Star selection and deciding on her next journey.  Son Justus is a sophomore at Buhach Colony and was a County All-Star in baseball for Hilmar High School as a freshman.  He working to be a certified welder..
