Lauren joined the Blue Devil family in July of 2019. She grew up in Santa Clara, California and graduated from Cupertino High School.  She went on to play water polo at Foothill Community College where she first became interested in athletic training.  She then went to San Jose State and earned both her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Athletic Training.  Her athletic training experience prior to coming to Merced College includes Cardinal Newman High School, Ernest Righetti High School, Lynbrook High School, Leland High School, Stanford Futures Baseball Camps, Competitive Edge Football camps, San Jose State University spring football, 2012 U.S.A. Gymnastics Artistic and Rhythmic National Championships and Olympic Trials, and  U.S.A. Figure Skating National Championships. She is looking forward to working with all of the Blue Devil athletes.

Scott graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1984 with a degree in Sports Medicine/ Athletic Training and he became a Certified Athletic Trainer through the BOC in 2000. He has worked in most of the settings that and athletic trainer finds their calling in, including traditional secondary school/ college programs, physical therapy clinics, private orthopedic surgeon’s offices (medical assistant/ orthopedic technician), academic instruction, private consultation, and other settings that don’t fit into easy classification. With 40 years of experience in various martial arts Scott has a unique specialty in the understanding of sports injuries related to the practice of combat sports. In his 20 plus years at Merced College as a student, intern, part-time athletic trainer, and full-time athletic trainer Scott has experienced the growth of the athletic training programs and he has taught the next generations of athletic trainers to face the future of the profession.
