From: Anne Newins Dear Students, We regret that due to the State budget cuts, the community college system has had to implement immediate fee increases. Please read the Important attached memo for specific information. Sincerely, Anne D. Newins, Ed.D. Vice President of Student Personnel
TUITION FEE INCREASES TO $26 PER UNIT – EFFECTIVE FALL 2009 Unfortunately, California’s budget problems have resulted in fee increases at all California Community Colleges, as well as the universities. With the recent passage of the state budget, the California State Legislature is now requiring students attending a California Community College to pay $26 per unit for tuition. This is an increase of $6 per unit. The $26 per unit fee is effective for the Fall 2009 semester. If you previously paid your registration fees for the Fall 2009 semester at the $20 per unit rate, you are still responsible for the $6 increase. To pay, please stop by the Student Fees Office. Also, credit card payments are accepted at www.mccd.edu or by telephone at (209) 384-6216). If you were already approved for an enrollment fee waiver/BOGG for the Fall 2009 semester, you do not have to do anything further. The fee waiver will automatically offset the increased fees. If you have questions regarding this notice, please contact Student Fees (384-6216). You may go to the Financial Aid Office to obtain information regarding eligibility for financial aid and enrollment fee waivers/BOGG. The Student Fees and Financial Aid offices are both located on the third floor of the Lesher Building.
