Merced College is approved to train veterans and eligible persons under
Title 38 U.S. Code. Application inquiries should be directed to the
Merced College Veterans Desk located in the Admissions and Registration
Area (209) 384-6113. Class registration information can be found in the
“Schedule of Classes” booklet printed each semester.
It is the responsibility of each eligible person to notify the Veterans Desk
at the college that he/she is enrolling EACH semester. Short-term classes
are usable toward the education benefit only during the period of time that
the class is in session. If benefits are discontinued for any reason,
reinstatement can occur by complying with the requirements of the Department
of Veterans Affairs.
In keeping with Title 38 U.S. Code, a veteran or eligible person is required
to make satisfactory progress toward their academic objective. The college
is required to certify satisfactory progress on the quality of performance
and progress toward objectives.
Classes in which a “D” or “F” is earned, or classes listed as repeatable in
the catalog, may be repeated and may be qualified for educational benefits
if such classes are required for graduation or transfer objectives.
Veterans Services provides enrollment assistance for
new
and
continuing
students receiving educational benefits under the Montgomery G.I. Bill.
