Application Information

Requirements
Any new student with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, or any continuing student with a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, may apply to the Honors Program. Enrollment forms are available from your counselor.

Honors Scholarships
Incoming and continuing honors program students may apply for a McConnell Honors Scholarship. These scholarships carry a $1000 annual stipend, and will be awarded for a second year if the student successfully completes his/her freshman courses. McConnell Scholarship recipients are normally expected to complete at least 9 units of honors - designated classes per academic year, while maintaining a grade point average of 3.25 or better. These scholarships depend upon the availability of funds.

Honor Societies
There are two honor societies at Merced College - Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Gamma Sigma. Students who are eligible for the Honors Program may also be eligible for membership in these societies. Please consult the college catalog for eligibility requirements. Information may also be obtained by calling the Student Activities Office at 384-6114.
