FEES:
There are no fees for the classes listed in this calendar, unless otherwise noted or if taking classes for college credit.

PRE-REGISTRATION:
If you would like to attend any of the classes in this calendar, please contact the Merced College Foster & Kinship Care Education (FKCE) Program to Pre-Register.
Pre-registering ensures that we have sufficient enrollment to hold the class (classes are cancelled if there are very few people pre-registered!).

Pre-registering ensures that you will be notified if the class is cancelled or the room assignment is changed.

Pre-registering ensures that if you come to the class, there will be room for you (there is limited seating in the classrooms!).

Pre-registering ensures that there will be enough instructional materials for everyone.

ATTENDANCE:
1. Registration forms must be completed at the first class attended (a Social Security Number or a Merced College Student I.D. Number is required).
2. The attendance sheet must be signed for hours to count.
3. Classes are designed for foster, kinship, and adoptive parents; however, professionals working with at risk youth, and interested community member are welcome. When space and/or books are limited, foster, kinship, and adoptive parents will be given priority.

CHILDCARE:
Childcare is not available. Please do not bring children to the classes, unless otherwise noted. Many issues are discussed that may not be appropriate for children and the classrooms are not set up to accommodate them.

TRAINING HOURS:
These classes may be used to meet the required training hours for foster parents in Merced County.

CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE:
Certificates of Attendance are awarded for the actual number of hours attended.

TRANSCRIPTS:
Transcripts will be available upon written request during semester breaks in December, January, and June (and/or as time permits). Contact the FKCE Office at 209-381-6578 to obtain a Transcript Request Form.

PARKING PERMITS:
Parking permits are required for all Merced College parking lots (including the Tri-College Center), unless otherwise posted. Daily permits are $1.00 (4 quarters are required for the permit machine) and may be purchased from the yellow Parking Permit machines located in each parking lot. *The FKCE Program has a very limited supply of free parking permits available (while supplies last) to licensed foster parents who have been attending classes regularly.

FOOD & DRINKS:
The cafeteria and vending machines will be available for refreshments during break. Food and drinks are not permitted in the classrooms.

All classes listed qualify for credit to meet both county and state foster parent training mandates - except for CPR / First Aid, which are licensing requirements.
