Taking
on the responsibility to parent another's child takes great courage. Finding
the right class or workshop to meet your needs is easier than ever. Courses
are offered on a rotating basis covering a variety of topics including
but not limited to the following:
Child
Development, Parenting, Love & Logic
- Child Welfare and
Permanency Planning
- State Licensing
and the Law
- Safety and First
Aid/CPR
- Special Needs Classes
designed to care for children with behavioral, learning and medical
difficulties
- Special Interest
Topics: Gangs, Drugs, Teen Pregnancy, Time Management, Cultural Diversity,
Grief and Loss.

Kinship
Care Education
Are
you a grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin or other family member who is caring
for a relative's child, part-time or full-time? If you answered "yes"
then you are providing Kinship Care. FKCE has classes and workshops to
enhance parenting skills. Classes are offered on a rotating basis which
include, but are not limited to:
- What will happen
to our relative's child at the court hearings?
- Where can my family
obtain financial support for our relative's child?
- Ways the Kinship
parent can strengthen their parenting style to support their relative's
child.
