Belly
Dance -- Learn the
basic movements of this ancient and natural dance form. Appropriate for all age
groups and body sizes, this unique dance and fitness program enhances
posture, grace, and self-confidence. Individuality and self-expression is

ARTS, HOBBIES & CRAFTS Water Color on WHAT? – Join local
award winning artist/instructor Kate Jackson as she guides you to develop
your watercolor skills! Learn the techniques for creating washes, pouring,
texture and color mixing. All skill levels are welcome and no previous art
experience required! Kate works with each student to increase his/her
abilities from any level. Fall Vegetable Gardening: Yard to Table – Grow your own fall vegetables. Food Gardening can fit into any yard or
landscape: carrots, broccoli, pumpkins, root crops, greens, lettuce, onions,
cabbage and more. Learn to choose and develop your garden site, build healthy
soils, create raised beds and container gardens, water wisely and manage
pests. Bring in photos and measurements and compass-orientation of your site
for more customized help. Organic methods will also be discussed in this

The Making of Movies -- This course is a series of hands-on workshops and discussions on the process of creating a motion picture, from concept of idea, through pre-production practices, to post production and marketing of films. You’ll learn concept creations and scripting preproduction, shot list, budgeting, scheduling, production, directing, lighting, cinematography and camera techniques, sound recording and postproduction practices. This is not your mother’s kitchen! Ever wonder how to make hand-made pasta? Sashimi? Port reduction? In this class, you can do it all! Each week participants will have hands-on cooking experiences that are designed for the novice and seasoned cooks alike. Chef Andrew Calzadillas, a graduate of California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, former Executive Chef, caterer and current Culinary Arts Instructor invites you to join him for four sessions of culinary exploration. AND FITNESS Fitness Boot Camp PM (Merced) – Get into great shape with an
efficient workout that will burn lots of calories while strengthening your
muscles. Every workout is different and you will constantly challenge
yourself. This course is for anyone who wants to get a grip on their
fitness regime.
The Biggest Loser - Interested in a little friendly competition while shedding fat? Based on the popular television show, you will be competing to lose pounds and inches with your class peers (based on body fat percentage). Everyone will be a winner but the ultimate “biggest loser” will receive a CASH PRIZE. Each class will focus on developing healthy lifestyle changes including help setting up healthy menus, exercise plans, as well as proven weight loss techniques. You will also participate in a rigorous workout, so come dressed appropriately. Note: Only weight loss percentages will be revealed. Mat Pilates with the Ball (3lbs) – Using weighted exercise balls (3lbs) offers you an invigorating and refreshing blend of Pilates standing “core” movements followed by matwork exercises, to energize your body from head to toe. The class is designed to increase weight-resistance and the intensity of your Pilates workout. Reduce stress and fatigue, increase physical strength, stamina, flexibility, improve balance and coordination, and promote weight loss. The class is suitable for all levels. All Pilates moves will be modified – and challenge movements encouraged for advanced fitness levels. Bring an exercise mat (Stretch Strap -Optional). Turbo Fat Burn-off Cross Training -- A calorie-burner workout includes Cardiosculpt, Kickboxing, Calisthenics, Pilates and Yoga. This class is designed to improve muscular strength and endurance, increase lean muscle mass and decrease body fat. Come prepared to move for 60 minutes-Burn fat, Sculpt & Tone Muscles, while building stamina, muscle endurance, strength and flexibility through cross-training. All exercises will be demonstrated with modifications for participants who need assistance. Participants who need more challenge will be encouraged to work at a higher fitness intensity. Crosstraining helps burn more calories, keeps exercise interesting, and prevents boredom, while working several muscles at once. Bring a mat and towel. Children’s Choir – Expose your child to the joys of making music
through the Merced Children’s Choir hosted by the College’s Department of
Music. Children ages 7 – 12 will spend 15 weeks studying music

Splashball - Splashball is the newest program under the umbrella of USA Water Polo and exists to introduce water polo to the younger generation in the community. Notary
Public in One Day –
Start your own business, provide customer service, earn additional income
and/or get recommissioned. This one-day intensive seminar will teach
you the new legislation, how to pass the “new” test, identify document
signers, keep a journal, fill out certificates and avoid lawsuits. The
class includes a practice Notary Public Exam as well as the official
exam. You must be present for the entire course of instruction and be
at least 18 years of age. Bring to class a proper ID (license or state
issued ID), two #2 pencils, a passport size photo and a check or money order
payable to the Secretary of State for $40 for new applicants. 8:00 AM
– 6:00 PM Notary Public in One Day - Renewal -The 3-hour renewing Notary class takes place during the second half of the regular seminar. You must arrive at 12:30pm to register.
