Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is a National Honor Society related to Phi Beta Kappa whose purpose is to recognize and encourage scholarship among Merced College students. PTK provides the opportunity for the development of leadership and service and an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society serving colleges offering associate degree programs. Founded in 1918, it currently has more than 1200 chapters in the United States and abroad. Its main purpose is to recognize and encourage academic excellence among associate degree students, but the four hallmarks to which Phi Theta Kappa is dedicated are scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.
