The Merced College Japanese Animation Association welcomes all Merced College Students. Our club first began by two senators in the Associated Students of Merced College in the fall of 2003 when they decided they wanted there to be a club on campus that focuses on anime. The goals of our club include providing anime screenings, drawing competitions, providing information about careers in animation, learning about Japanese culture and language, and going to anime conventions. One convention that club members have visited was in Anaheim, California known as the Anime Expo. This convention is known throughout the world as the biggest convention that is centered on anime in the United States, next to the Anime Expo in Japan. When members made it to this convention, they found out much more about Japanese animation than they ever thought. The Anime Club strives to give members a broad spectrum of activities and events centered around Japanese Animation. We offer one-two free Anime Screenings each semester. Meetings:
