Donations Needed for Project Graduation
For the next
three weeks Phi Theta Kappa will be accepting donations of non-perishable
foods and gently used children's books to donate to local
charities.
The bins are
located near the information desk in:
- The Administration
Building
- The Communication
Building lobby area
- Near the
Tutorial Room in the lobby.
At graduation
we will also have a booth for that purpose. There are bins placed
around campus with "Project Graduation" flyers on them.
Please take some time to donate.
The summer is
often the most hungry time for the needy and children do not have
immediate access nutritious meals nor to books as they are not in
school. If you could spread the word about this project, and everyone
gives just a little bit, our collection will be a success.
Last year we
collected 240 food items and 430 books. The food went to the Salvation
Army and the books went to Tenaya and Chenoweth public schools and
to WIC. This is an easy way for Merced College to give back to the
community and we appreciate all of your efforts. Have a wonderful
summer.
