SUBJECT:  49th annual Agriculture Field Day at Merced College

BACKGROUND:  The Merced College Agriculture Program will hold its 49th annual Agriculture Field Day on Saturday, March 18.  Merced College Agriculture faculty and students will host more than 1,300 high school students and 150 high school instructors for a full day of competitions in 12 different career pathways within the agriculture industry sector, all of which are offered at Merced College. These competitions include Agriculture Mechanics, Agriculture Pest Control, Best Informed Greenhand, Farm Power, Farm Record Book, Job Interview, Land Judging, Livestock Judging, Milk Quality & Dairy Foods, Nursery/Landscape, Small Engines, and Vegetable Crop Judging.  The Field Day activities culminate with an awards ceremony which provides awards to the top students and schools in each competition area.
