With finals just over two weeks away, finding a quiet and comfortable spot to study can make all the difference for Merced College students. The College is all too aware of this and attempts to accommodate with extended study hours throughout finals week. Below are all of the available locations and times for those looking for on-campus study options for the week of May 21.

Study Central, located across from Student Health Services in the Student Union, will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, May 21 through Wednesday, May 23. Food and drinks are allowed in the facility, and students will have access to math and English peer mentors as well as instructors every hour.

The Tutorial Center will also be open from Monday through Wednesday, but will only remain open until 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. They will close their doors at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and remain closed for the rest of the week. Tutoring sessions can be made by appointment and walk-ins are welcome too. The Tutorial Center is located in the Room 1 of the Communications Building.

The Math Lab will be open Monday through Thursday, going from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. the first three days of the week. It will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday. The Math Lab is located in room 201 of the Science Building.

The Learning Resource Center will also have extended hours for the week. The library will be open Monday through Friday, keeping its doors open from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. The LRC will close at noon on Friday, May 25 in preparation for graduation later that evening. The library has a number of computer stations, plenty of study spots and rooms available for group work.

For the truly night owls among you, the Interdisciplinary Literacy Center (ILC) will have the latest hours, going from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. The ILC will shut its doors at 1 p.m. on Friday. The ILC is open to anyone working on a writing or reading assignment and offers help in the form of peer mentors and faculty as well as the ability to check out laptops.
