This is a full-time, tenure track instructional assignment in the Public Safety Department at Merced College under the general direction of the Dean of Allied Health, Business and Public Safety. This position includes both classroom instruction in the Corrections and Criminal Justice fields including in-service training for correctional officers, law enforcement officers and Police Officer POST Modular Training; obtaining certification from the State regulating body, and staffing classes in these areas; meet with representatives from state regulatory departments; implement law and regulation changes; meet with representatives of agencies to assess in-service training needs and plan training; participate in departmental, area and campus professional activities/committees; remain current with discipline content, technology and teaching/learning strategies through participation in required professional development activities, contribute to program review; market and recruit student to grow and enhance the program. The standard teaching load is 15 units per semester, which may include evening and weekend hours.
Allied Health, Business & Public Safety Area: The Area consists of 28 full-time faculty members and offers a full range of courses in nursing, radiologic technology, Sonography, allied health, fire sciences, emergency medical technician, administration of justice, corrections, accounting, administration office management, business, computer studies, management, management (CSA), marketing/merchandising, nutrition, and real estate.

Interview Information: Those applicants deemed most qualified for the position will be invited to appear for oral interviews before a screening committee which includes a 15-minute teaching demonstration on a selected topic. Finalist interviews with district administrators will follow the same or next day. A limited number of candidates will be invited to interviews. Expenses for travel and accommodations will be the responsibility of the candidates.
