19 hours/week; 12 months/year

Minimum Qualifications


  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent
  • Must have valid CA driverís license
  • Current DMV printout
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

General Description:

Under direct supervision of the Director or Dean, perform duties related to the transportation and distribution of college mail and packages between the Los Banos Campus and the Merced Campus; and other related duties as assigned

Essential Functions:  

  • Collect, prepare and transport mail and other items as necessary
  • May pickup and deliver from off campus sites as necessary
  • Delivers bulk boxes of mail to mailroom at Merced Campus, exchange for bulk boxes of mail for Los Banos Campus
  • Sort, bundle and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages to various area
  • Pick up items from Print Services, Library, Bookstore and other areas as needed
  • Maintain mail area and delivery vehicle in neat and clean manner

Knowledge of:

  • Safe driving habits

Ability to:

  • Follow written and oral instructions
  • Follows District vehicle usage rules
  • Lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
  • Work cooperatively with others in a team environment
