Getting Started:

There are at least two ways to access your course.  One, you can click the this WebCt link .  (***If you do, be sure you have the instructions below.)  Two, you can go to:  http://www.mccd.edu At the bottom, click “Online tools”.  Then click the highlighted link “Merced College Online Instruction”.  Select "Go to WebCt Login Page." 

Logging in:

Adds:  

It take a few days to process adds.  To help, take your add-slip to admissions as soon as possible.  Once you are enrolled, you can expect access to the course in about 3 days.

To change your password:

At the top of “myWebCT” page, click “Password Settings”.  You will be asked to enter you old password (smithj) and a new password along with a hint.  Be sure to write your password down, as I can not retrieve it for you.  Scroll down the page and enter your email address also, then select “update”.  You will then click “Return to myWebCT”.

The course:

To get into the course click on the appropriate highlighted course on your myWebCT page.  This will take you to the course homepage that has a list of icons.

1. Browser, Plugins, etc. Make sure you have the proper hardware for the course.  If you run into any download problems, this will be the first place you start.
    

2. CALENDAR:  This is very important as it reminds you what is due and when.  You can view by week or month. Click on the date for expanded view.
    

3. SYLLABUS:  You should read this first so that you know what is required to be successful in the course.  Refer back to it as necessary.
    

*****IMPORTANT****

This class is very popular and many others will be waiting to take your “seat” if you do not choose to stay.  Your response or an email will let me know if you are having any access problems. 

Remember, the best way to get familiar with the course is to take a look around.  If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to email me.  Please understand that in dealing with computers and systems, some servers or email may not be available at any given time.
