Bureau of National Affairs is the largest independent publisher of information and analysis products for professionals in law, tax, business, and government.  They publish daily, weekly, monthly, and up-to-the-minute news covering the full range of legal, legislative, regulatory, and economic developments that impact the business environment.(added 5/24/08)

California Code: direct access to California codes (e.g., Business & Professions, Code of Civil Procedure, etc.)

California Courts:  A comprehensive site to California Court system; maintained by the Judicial Council of California.

California Department of Consumer Affairs: consumer protection, education, and help. 

Copyright Website: A terrific, award-winning site for information on, discussion of, and examples of visual, audio, and digital copyright violations.  One of my favorites! Be patient if it's slow loading.

On JURIST's Paper Chase, University of Pittsburgh law professor Bernard Hibbitts and his staff of some 30 law students continually track "legal news worth thinking about." From the early hours of the morning to past midnight every weekday they filter thousands of law-related stories on the Internet, using their academic expertise to identify the most important ones (not the most sensational ones), which they then summarize and enrich in real time with relevant online research materials. LawSmart Library:  If you need a common legal document or some information regarding your legal problem or issue, click into the LawSmart Library and find the answers, forms or documents you need.  Once you find the legal resources you need, select your area of law and your state and follow the directions.
