Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, you are entitled to free annual credit reports from the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian and Transunion. Access the government-mandated site at www.annualcreditreport.com (Note: while the credit reports are free; there's a fee if you also want your FICO score). If you don't want to submit an online inquiry, send a snail-mail inquiry to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.
