Sexual Orientation

 

·        Sexual orientation on a single continuum versus 2 separate dimensions

·        Definitions of sexual orientation, heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality

·        Cross-cultural views and historical perspectives on sexual orientation

·        The issue of survey research in studies of sexual orientation

·        Critical thinking and stereotypes

·        Theories of sexual orientation and implications

·        Homophobia (e.g., forms of homophobia, proposed causes, etc.)

·        Examples of hate crimes against homosexuals (e.g., victims of the Holocaust, John Wear, Matthew Sheppard, Harvey Milk—know who these individuals are).
