EXAM 2 REVIEW

Remember to bring a number 2 pencil and a scantron answer sheet for the exam

You will be responsible for the material presented in class and in chapters including the following:

·        The incidence, symptoms and complications, transmission, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (e.g., gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, genital herpes, genital warts, hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS)

·        Differences between bacterial and viral STIs

·        Study the "How much do you know about STIs?" quiz discussed in class.

·        Study the "How much do you know about HIV and AIDS?" quiz discussed in class.

·        Safer sex

·        Masturbation

·        You should know the names of the main characters in the film And the Band Played On.  You will be responsible for the main ideas in the film including the following:

·        How did the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) go about conducting research to discover the cause of these new illnesses and what factors made this research difficult? 

·        What was AIDS called in the United States at the beginning of the epidemic? 

·        How did French researchers differ from American researchers in their view of this

pandemic? 

·        What was the conflict about between French researchers and American researchers?

·        What does the film suggest were contributing factors to the rapid spread of this disease?
