10A Structure and Concepts in Mathematics I:
Development of real numbers including integers, rational and irrational
numbers, computation, prime numbers and factorizations, and problem solving
strategies. Perspective elementary school teacher course.
Math 10B Structure and Concepts in Mathematics II:
Development of probability, statistics, geometry, measurement, motion geometry,
and tessellation. Perspective elementary school teacher course.
Math 20A Basic Structure of Mathematics I:
This course covers elementary set theory, numeration systems, number theory,
the set of integers, the set of rational numbers, and the set of real numbers.
Perspective elementary school teacher course.
Math 20B Basic Structure of Mathematics II:
This course covers the structure of plane and solid geometry, measure,
introduction to coordinate geometry, elementary probability, and statistics.
Perspective elementary school teacher course.
Math 45 Contemporary Mathematics:
An introduction to mathematical problem solving: statistics, social choice,
mathematics of shape and growth, and management science. For liberal arts
students.
Math 45 What is Math?:
Covers topics from the following areas: (I) The Mathematics of Social
Choice; (II) Management Science and Optimization; (III) The Mathematics of
Growth and Symmetry; and (IV) Statistics and Probability.
Math 87 Mathematics for Life:
Consists of a quick review of common fractions, decimals and percents; consumer
applications, basic operations of algebra; simple equations; formula
manipulation; and basic facts and formulas from geometry.
