Expected Student Outcomes (E.S.O.’s):
The student should be able to do the following:
1. Find the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions
2. Evaluate integrals involving exponential and logarithmic functions
3. Evaluate and sketch inverse trigonometric functions and be able to verify identities using these functions
4. Find the derivatives and evaluate integrals involving inverse trigonometric functions
5. Define, differentiate, and integrate hyperbolic functions
6. Evaluate integrals using integration by parts, trigonometric substitutions, partial fractions, miscellaneous substitutions, tables of integrals and by using computer algebra systems
7. Define and evaluate indeterminate forms
8. Evaluate integrals with infinite limits and with discontinuous integrands
9. Represent functions in terms of their Taylor or Maclaurin series expansions
10. Test infinite series for convergence and absolute convergence and find the interval of convergence of a power series
11. Define conic sections and determine their equations and be able to graph parabolas, ellipses and hyperbolas, including rotations.
12. Sketch curves given in polar coordinate form, identify and sketch conics in polar form, find areas and arc length in polar form and find the surface of surfaces of revolution.
13. Make appropriate use of technology
