Vocational Student Support Services collaborates with the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, Merced County Human Services Agency, and Merced County Department of Workforce Investment. VSSS assists students participating in CalWORKs, Empower and Department of Workforce Investment, in their pursuit of education that leads to self-sufficiency. VSSS offers assistance with child care payments, book services, student advocacy, tracking time & attendance, progress reports, referrals to other student services. The staff works closely with several on-campus entities and county agencies. When students face barriers that may interfere with their educational and/or personal goals, the staff provides a friendly and respectful atmosphere where the student will be listened to and referred to appropriate resources. If you are a student receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), or you are a TANF Recipient considering enrolling at Merced College come visit.
