Merced County Human Service Agency Employment & Training - CalWORKs

Merced
County Human Services Agency with self-sufficiency as a primary goal,
employment services strives to overcome barriers to successful employment.
Welfare-to-Work (WTW) provides training, counseling, education and work
experience to CalWORKs recipients. All participants are given an assessment
to determined specific needs so that a customized case plan can be developed.
Requirements:
Receiving Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF)
Participation:
One-Parent Families: Required to take part in 35 hours of approved activities
(school, work, WEX).
Two-Parent Families: Required to take part in 40 hours of approved activities
(between both parents or by just one)
Time
Limit:
Cash Aid (TANF) has a 60-month lifetime limit
SIP has 60 month (or time remanding onTANF)
Vocational Training has 18/24 months to complete training with supportive
services from the County Welfare Department
