Alan Claunch
Assistant Coach

Alan like Tyone and Coach Russell is a former Blue Devil. Alan joined the coaching staff four years ago and will help with coaching the post players.

Alan is a graduate of Merced High School, and Merced College. Though when he came to Merced College he did not have a lot of organized playing experience, he worked hard and became a valuable member of the team. Alan’s dedication as a student/player both on and off the court paid off as he received the John Miller Basketball Dedication, and Motty Mottram Scholastic Award recipient.

Since his graduation Alan has started Outdoor Creations a very successful landscaping and instellation business. Many of his designs have been featured in professional publications. He has also served four terms in the Design, Review and Historic Board for the City of Merced. He is a past Board member of the Merced County Habitat for Humanity, and is an employer mentor for Valley High School (work study programs). He is married to Vanda and lives in Merced.
