2007 Business Forum Scheduled at Merced College

The 2007 Business Forum at Merced College begins with a topic of interest for the entire community: the local economy and housing market.

Economist Tapan Munroe and management specialist Lon Hatamiya will lead the forum’s first seminar titled “The Economy and Housing Market: Outlook for 2007.” The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27 beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Merced College Theater. This year’s business forum follows last year’s successful first annual event.
Munroe is the chief consulting economist for Capital Corporation of the West, the holding company of County Bank. Hatamiya is an executive-in-residence at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and a senior fellow at UCLA’s School of Public Policy and Social Research.

The 2007 Business Forum is underwritten by major corporate sponsor County Bank in partnership with the Merced Sun-Star and Radio Merced’s KYOS Newstalk 1480 and KLBS Oldies 97.5, and in association with the Merced College Foundation.
Other seminars scheduled for the series include “Dynamic Management & Marketing Strategies for the 21st Century Non-Profit” on Saturday, March 17, and “Winning Strategies for Grant Seeking and Grant Writing” on Saturday, April 14.
