September 15, 2006 Merced College is hosting a theater workshop with noted international artist Shailja Patel on Monday, Oct. 23 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Lesher Library Room 1. The public is invited to attend this free event. Patel is an Asian-African poet and spoken-word artist who is currently traveling with her one-woman show "Migritude."
