The downtown Business Resource Center is continuing work this month on the following activities: Acoustical Ceiling Grid Installation, Gypsum Board Texture,  MEP Rough In,  Plaster Finish Coat,  Remove exterior scaffold,  Begin Elevator

The 21,343 square foot two-story facility will include computer labs, lecture rooms, study rooms, meeting rooms,and offices. The Merced College Business Resource Center will be centrally located in beautiful Downtown Merced on 19th Street between M & N Streets. The project is expected to take approximatelyone year to complete.

July 2007 Photos

Merced College’s downtown Business Resource Center is expected to take about one year to complete. The 21,343 square foot, two-story facility will house the College’s economic and business development programs. Computer labs, lecture rooms, study rooms, and meeting rooms will be showcased for the benefit of the community. The photos, from July, show the building’s external steel structure. In August, construction of the roof will begin and interior framing will also commence.

Merced College’s Business Resource Center is going vertical. Structural steel continues to be installed with exterior masonry, and decking on the second floor and roof is continuing. Stairs will be installed this month along with further framing of the structure.

April 2007 Photos

The Business Resource Center is taking shape in downtown Merced, across the street from Merced City Hall. Much of the work has been done on the building’s “footprint” and work continues on the concrete slab and the construction of the masonry wall. Work will begin on the construction of the steel structure of the building.

March 2007 Photos

Still in the very early stages of construction, the Business Resource Center is taking shape in the heart of downtown Merced. Footings are being poured and an elevator pit has been dug for the two-story complex. Electrical and plumbing are being installed under the concrete. Placing of the buildings structural steel will occur next month.

January 2007 Photos

A joint groundbreaking ceremony for the Business Resource Center and the City of Merced’s hotel complex was held on January 17. These two projects will be the centerpiece of the development of an empty city block in downtown Merced. The site is bounded by M and N streets on the east and west, and 18th and 19th Streets on the north and south. The BCR will house Merced College’s numerous business and employer-related programs, including the Center for International Trade and Development and the Workplace Learning Resources Center. These photos show initial earthwork and excavation of the site. An additional photo show Merced College President Dr. Benjamin Duran addressing the crowd gathered at the groundbreaking.
