The Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAA/CCCT) Grant identified embedded remediation and improving student support services as an important goal. At Merced College, remediation and student support services were designed to help students attain the foundational skills necessary to become successful students. Using various methodologies, these principles were adopted to help facilitate student success.


Below are the resources available with funding provided by the TAA/CCCT Grant Program:


Peer Mentors

The in-class placements of the peer mentors provides for opportunities for hands-on supplementary instruction in the learning environment. Students that have gone through our programs have noted that the assistance of the peer mentors has been key to their success.

Career Technical Education MATH-85 Course

This course was designed to help students improve their basic math skills and teach how to apply math to a variety of Career Technical Education courses including welding, electronics, and agriculture.
